Old people.......

Old People……..

So sad but true…… old people have a way about them; not always good.   Couple of “old people” tales…….

I don’t think it’s any secret but Henri and I do love to have a bottle (er glass) or two of vino rouge or vino tinto or vino blanc or any old vin…. With this is mind we usually carry a corkscrew when travelling.  Henry, being the organized fellow he is usually leaves his travel gear in his suitcase.  (Henry also has a pair of winter gloves in the pocket of EVERY winter coat he owns!)   I being the neat freak (and if you believe that well………) usually empty everything from the suitcase, usually within a month or two of getting home, and put the suitcases away.   This trip, I started packing about a week before we left.  This is not a good idea.  It’s like getting your Christmas shopping done early, way early, and then continuing to shop right up until Christmas eve (remind you of anyone you know?)  Also, being an “elderly” person, unless I do something right when I think of it, I FORGET!

We arrived in France and I said “geeze I forgot to pack a corkscrew.  I know I had thought of it during the packing process but likely went to get one but packed another pair of shoes instead.   Henry said “well I usually have one in my suitcase but it is gone”.  It seems that I do EVERYTHING that is wrong, so it must have been me.   I said well we’ll have to get another one.  Off we go, find a corkscrew (and a bottle of wine to go with it) and back home.   Below, see featured:

1.     The one we bought in France
2.     The one Henry found in his suitcase pocket
3.     The one I found in my “essentials” travel bag

Any bets we’ll have to buy another one next trip?

Travel Tip:   If you’re elderly (we qualify because we receive “old” age security) don’t start one thing, forget what you’re doing and start something else….  For instance, leaving Nice I was putting my computer away and then got distracted (likely had to pack another pair of shoes) . We arrive in Barcelona and guess what Josephina doesn’t have…….. my Macbook Pro electrical cord.  I bet it’s still hanging in the socket in the Novotel in Nice.  Sent them an Email….. maybe we can get  it on the way back.  In the meantime… pretty sure the Mac’s battery isn’t going to last 50 days!   ‘Henri my sweet…..do you remember where that huge Apple store was that we wandered by  in our 5 mile walk this afternoon? “  “Could you take me there now as I couldn’t find my way out of a paper bag?”.   Oh and how about that 79 Euro price tag – there went my spending money.  I suppose I can buy and adapter to fit these prongs so I can use it at home….

Old people rule…… DO NOT MULTI-TASK!

And as an aside (don’t show your children) this is the start of the reversion to childhood….. tittering, I took these photos at the market in Nice of seed packets…. (perhaps you could use some of these for your garden Gail?)

Melon Tits

Penis Pepper
